End-of-Waste Condition Certification

One step closer to a truly circular economy

ABN Pipe Systems has obtained End-of-Waste Condition Certification issued by AENOR, consolidating its leadership in sustainability and in the application of the circular economy within the technical plastics sector.

What does the End-of-Waste Certification mean?

The End-of-Waste Certificate establishes that a material has passed all the necessary stages to cease to be legally considered "waste" according to the Orden TED/646/2023, por la que se establecen los criterios para determinar cuándo los residuos termoplásticos sometidos a tratamientos mecánicos y destinados a la fabricación de productos plásticos dejan de ser residuo con arreglo a la Ley 7/2022, de residuos y suelos contaminados para una circular economy.

In practice, this ensures that the materials:

  • They meet the quality and traceability criteria required by European regulations.
  • They can be reused in manufacturing without compromising safety or the environment.
  • They contribute to reducing the consumption of virgin resources and associated emissions.

Application in ABN Pipe Systems

At ABN, sustainability is integrated into every stage of the production process.

  • Reducing waste generation and close the materials cycle.
  • Optimising the use of natural resources, reducing dependence on virgin raw materials.
  • Increase traceability and transparency throughout the value chain. Commitment to sustainability

Thanks to AENOR certification, ABN guarantees that its recycled materials meet the same quality standards as the original materials, maintaining the technical performance and safety of the systems.

Benefits for industry and the environment

The "end-of-waste status" recognition promotes a more competitive and responsible industrial model:

Environmental benefits

  • Direct reduction of CO₂ emissions.
  • Reduction in the volume of industrial waste.
  • Greater energy efficiency in production processes.

Industrial advantages

  • Safe reintroduction of certified recycled materials.
  • Savings in raw material costs.
  • Regulatory compliance in sustainability and the circular economy.

Market advantages

  • Strengthening confidence in recycled products.
